A Reason to Celebrate Rose Day!!

Rose day was first launched and celebrated in 1912 in Denmark, United Kingdom. Queen Alexandra  who married to Prince of Wales (Later King Edward VII) in 1863 had a wish to celebrate her 50th Anniversary in a special way.

She wanted that her anniversary should be  remembered forever for social cause and helping sick and needy. So she came up with an idea that she would sell artificial wild roses and raise fund for London Hospital which were made by young women with disabilities. 

The day was called “Alexandra Rose Day” and it was hugely successful in London and raised £32,000 in a single day in 1912.

Alexandra passed away in 1925 but her Rose Day still continued to be celebrated around the world.
